WASHINGTON, D.C., (May 17, 2024) – U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) introduced the UAP Transparency Act, which would require the declassification of all federal documents related to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). Reps. Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13), and Rep. Eric Burlison (MO-07) are original cosponsors of the bill.
“This bill isn’t all about finding little green men or flying saucers, it’s about forcing the Pentagon and federal agencies to be transparent with the American people. I’m sick of hearing bureaucrats telling me these things don’t exist while we’ve spent millions of taxpayer dollars on studying them for decades.” Said Rep. Burchett.
The UAP Transparency Act requires the president of the United States to direct all federal agencies and departments to make all documents relating to UAPs available to the public within 270 days. It would also require the president to provide a quarterly report to the U.S. House of Representatives detailing the progress made toward declassifying these records by every federal agency.
